When I came to Mr Hannan I felt I had a good idea of what my issues were, but he ensured that we went over these to ensure that there were no misunderstandings and to enable Mr Hannan to build up a fuller picture and ask supplementary questions.
He then walked me through my issues and, as part of the consultation, went go through some of the more reliable resources available on the internet with to improve my understanding of my condition. I left the consultation feeling far more empowered and with strong pointers to my potential next steps.
It should also be noted that I had an absolutely painless nasolaryngopharyngoscopy (I had had one previously which caused discomfort). For those having a nasolaryngopharyngoscopy, if you chose the Wellington (or similar) rather than the Royal Free, then you yourself will be able to see the nasolaryngopharyngoscopy on a screen (the Royal Free does not have this facility)

I was appointed as a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist - Head & Neck Surgeon in 2009 at the Royal National Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital, and strive to deliver a full general elective and emergency ENT service for adults and children, which is safe, patient-centred and of highest quality. My service is centralised at RNENTH and University College Hospital, and it extends to spoke sites, namely Edgware Community Hospital.
